Our Story
As fate should have it Brian Jansen and Tyler Burslem met as humble ski coaches for the Apex Mountain freestyle ski team in 2003. A friendship quickly forged over their shared passion for outdoor pursuits and athletic performance. Warmer months were spent working together in the construction sector, translating coaching skills into managing successful building projects. In 2009, the relationship evolved into a business partnership and the creation of New Leaf Contracting (NLC) based in Pemberton and Whistler, BC.
Brian and Tyler have built NLC on a solid foundation by consistently applying its core values of:

Over the years, NLC has grown into a team of 20+ employees which includes red seal carpenters, project managers, administration, skilled workers and labourers. A select group of trusted architects, engineers, registered professionals and licensed trades are utilized to successfully execute projects.

We respect and value the members of our team. It consists of like-minded individuals whom have chosen to live in the Sea to Sky Corridor for the lifestyle and opportunities it creates. The result is a group of people that are motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated to their Jobs.
As Carpenters by trade, employees are offered continued training and development. Through the Skilled Trades BC program, they are given skills, education and certification. As part of our ongoing development and training, we typically have 6-10 employees working towards the completion of their Red seal.
